Change in Income or Household

Report a change in your household's income or in who lives with you. You must report all changes in income or family composition within ten (10) calendar days. If you do not report in time, you may owe SHA retroactive rent.

Report each change: new income or a change in income, loss of income, adding a person, or removing a person. Bring the documents listed for each change to the office.
For your privacy, enter only the last 4 digits of the Social Security number.
If your household has no income, also fill out the Zero Income Worksheet (under Printable forms on the Forms page) and bring it in.

Bring documentation of each change: employment - 4 check stubs if paid bi-weekly / 8 if weekly, and the offer letter if you received one; unemployment - benefits statement; Social Security / SSI - award letter dated within the last 90 days; TANF - notice from Texas Health and Human Services; child support - 1-year printout from the Attorney General; self-employment - tax return (1040) or 1099s.
