File a Grievance
If you disagree with something SHA did, or failed to do, under your lease or our rules, you can file a grievance here. It goes to our office, and you get a confirmation number.
The steps are set out in our Grievance Procedures (on the ACOP & Policies page). In short:
- File the grievance within 30 business days of what happened. You can use this form, or tell us in person or by phone at 903-893-3139. We will meet with you to try to settle it, and give you a written summary within 5 business days.
- Ask for a hearing if you are not satisfied with the summary. You must ask in writing within 5 business days of getting it. You can use this same form.
You may bring a lawyer or other person to represent you. The grievance process does not cover disputes between neighbors, or evictions for criminal activity that threatens health or safety, for violent or drug-related criminal activity, or after a felony conviction of a household member.
